MAHALA RAI BANDA!!
Central Park Summer Stage hosted the Black Sea Roma Fest yesterday and we were lucky enough to witness the incredible Mahala Rai Banda (Raphlex even snuck on stage), as well as our Finnish homegirls The Wonderlust DJs, and Disko Balkan (Blacky & Gadjo) in addition to the entire Mehanata crew.
From there we went to the after party at Mehanata, featuring our homeboy Chico Selekta and our favorite belly dance troupe, Bastet. Disko Balkan and Wonderlust also DJ’d.
Thanks to all who came out to the after party… now that our international dj comrades have landed, things are about to get crazy!!

Exciting news—we were invited to DJ the Rubin Museum of Art’s Icon Conference–“Embodying the Holy: Icons in Eastern Orthodox Christianity and Tibetan Buddhism” on Friday, October 8th 6pm – 10PM. It’s free, and classy! Though our presence will surely inject some Burdel-style debauchery in the experience… RSVP here. This is a huge honor for us so we’re really looking forward to it.
We went to the lounge last night to meet Fay, who sought us out and invited us. The space is very cool. More info soon!

We celebrated dear RAPHLEX’s birthday in a crazy way at Mehanata last night… cake was flying, beautiful fur hats were destroyed, all in the name of trans-global festivity… worth it? OPAAAAAAAAAAAA! Thanks Amelia for the photos.

CEVICHE DINNER & NEW BATHROOMS
Mehanata got a bathroom makeover, and we could not be happier. We were tripping on the busted tile floor all the time. Big makeovers on the way for the rest of the bar too!
We threw a little ceviche party at the residence of Raphlex for our Burdel family. It was delicious.
